My Favorite Revenge FIlms #2

Hard Candy (2005 David Slade)

A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.

A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.
Hard Candy's director David Slade's debut film, he gave the story a unique feel of terror, and perfectly showcasing Ellen Page's talent. The cinematography was astounding in every shot. Patrick Wilson makes for a great villain, as does Page.
Ellen Page is Hayley Stark in this Revenge Thriller. Once I found out what she was up to I realized she was missing a red cape flowing behind her, she instantly became a sort of super hero to me.
There are times in this movie I have to admit you find yourself watching this and wondering who you should really be rooting for.
There should be more story's this one. This one hit a personal note with me. As it has always been my secret fantasy to take revenge on the man who took me and my brothers innocence.
Revenge done right

There' s Always Time ForAdventure!!

I am obsessed with this show!!
It is so hilarious, I am laughing out loud and doing squiggly arms the whole time.
I don't normally have anything to share with my brother, but when I turn this show on, he's doing the squiggly arms right along with me! And where 25 and 28!!
Like most things for me lately I was exposed to gifs and pics from this show on Tumblr before ever seeing it.
He has the same sense of humor I fell in love with in Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, while combining elements I'm used to seeing on Adult Swim programs but without going to far.
I thought I had grown out of cartoons, but there's nothing I don't love about Adventure time <3

My Favorite Revenge Films #1

I Saw The Devil(Ji-woon Kim, 2010)
#1

Korean Crime/Horror

There where so many times where this movie could have ended on a perfect note yet it kept going, thankfully.
Lee Byung-hyun is Dae-Hoon, a detective who wants the ultimate revenge on serial killer Choi Min-sik played by Kyung-chul(Oldboy,Lady Vengeance) after he Kidnapped and brutally murders his wife.Dae-Hoon could end it all with a capture and arrest, but he has other plans for his wife's murderer which leaves the killer begging for an end.
This film was so damn brutal. By far in-depth revenge film ever made. And Korean Horror is my favorite genre, as is Revenge.

Drive

http://vincentgabriele.tumblr.com/
Drive is Neo Noir Perfection. I haven't been excited about a film like this since 90's Tarantino.
The Character Driver was so intense and real I had to go purchase the book immediately after leaving the theater.
Credit is due not only to Nicolas Winding Refn the Director, but also the Cinematographer, and Cliff Martinez the man in charge of all that amazing music setting the tone for every moment of Drive perfectly.
I never thought I would like Ryan Gosling, he has always been too Teen Beat Heartthrob for me, but he nailed his role as The Driver perfectly and has my full respect. He was so intense and real.
What I really loved about Drive is, it didn't need all the typical B.S that movies for the past 10-20 years have survived on, there was no sex scenes,no outlandish explosions. The only part that felt fake in this film was the tits.
Violence in Drive was minimal but wasn't at all lacking. From the moments in the elevator, to the hotel, you feel for Driver because these moments where so incredibly intense.
The emotion coming from Driver right after he pummels the man in the elevator,I swear I could smell the copper in the blood as he stands bloodsplatterd staring at Carey Mulligan's Irene character waiting for her reaction the moment was deep and disturbing . Driver is so complex, as a man of few words, he goes from being sweet, caring and gentle with Irene and her son, too a vicious killer with such ease I got the feeling this isn't the first time he's killed.

As an aspiring filmmaker this was so eye opening.
